      Welcome to Building Construction! This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles, practices, and technologies involved in the construction of buildings. Designed for aspiring builders, engineers, and project managers, this course covers everything from site preparation to the finishing touches, ensuring a solid foundation in construction techniques and industry standards.
       
      Main Concepts Covered:
       
      1. Site Preparation and Layout: Learn the essential steps in preparing a construction site, including surveying, excavation, and setting out the building layout.
      2. Foundations and Substructures: Understand the different types of foundations (shallow and deep) and their applications, as well as the construction of basements and other substructures.
      3. Superstructure Construction: Explore the methods and materials used in building superstructures, including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
      4. Building Enclosure: Learn about the components of a building enclosure, such as walls, roofs, windows, and doors, and how they contribute to energy efficiency and weather resistance.

      Course Requirements:

      - Prerequisites: Basic understanding of mathematics and physics is recommended.
       
      Assessment Methods:

The Joinery Works course aims to provide learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to construct, assemble, install, and maintain wooden components used in building and furniture construction.
It focuses on precision woodworking, safe use of hand and power tools, and producing quality joinery products that meet industry standards.

The Roof Works course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to construct, repair, and maintain roofing systems safely and effectively. It covers both traditional and modern roofing techniques, materials, and safety standards used in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

This course is tested and examined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). A trainee who undergoes this course and attain its certificate can further his/her skills to craft level, Diploma & Degree levels in masonry which will end up to be Building and construction technology. The course takes two years and the trainees are also trained Business Skills, Technical Drawing, Science, Mathematics and Entrepreneurship which is referred as support subject.

Students will learn about materials, structural systems, building codes, and sustainability in construction.

A technical drawing course teaches the fundamental principles of creating precise, standardized visual representations of objects and structures for manufacturing or construction. Key topics include learning to use drawing instruments, understanding orthographic and isometric projections, correctly applying dimensions, and interpreting different views like sections and exploded views.
